Fuck Yeah, Awesome Houses Frequently Asked Questions:

*****************************************

1. Why don’t your posts contain links to the websites these pictures came from?

Whenever possible, I try to include a link to the photos’ originating site(s), however, unfortunately many times I can’t do so because I just don’t know the originating site(s).

I’ve been collecting interior design/architecture pics for a very long time, but it wasn’t until recently, when I started this blog, that I began noting the sites at which they were found.

I also download a lot of pictures from torrent sites - sometimes people post torrents full of the most amazing architecture/design pics - but sadly, these torrents generally contain no background information on the photos.

Because of my crazy enthusiastic downloading habits, I have probably thousands of photos with no known sites of origins - and unfortunately there’s really no way to find that information due to the sheer quantity of photos that I have.

2. Don’t you think the people who created the photos you post deserve to get the credit?

Absolutely! I wish I knew the origins of/stories behind all the photos I post, because I really do want to give credit to the talented and creative people behind these images. I promise to do so whenever I possibly can. When I post photos without giving credit, I only do so because I don’t have a choice - I don’t have that information. I would never purposely choose to post someone else’s work while denying them the credit.

**I am very sensitive to the fact that I am posting other people’s work without giving them the credit they deserve. I want everyone who sees my blog to know that it is my sincerest wish NEVER to offend or upset anybody by posting these pictures without credit. I wish I knew the origins of all the photos I post; I would be delighted and privileged to tell my followers who the people are behind these amazing works of art - but sadly, this is often not possible, simply because I do not know who they are.**

One thing I can do is to tell you all that I have never and would never claim any of these photos as my own. I have nothing but respect for the talent and hard work that goes into producing these photos and I would never want to say or do anything to undermine the creator’s efforts.

I’m just so amazed & inspired by their beautiful creations - I want to share them with others so they can admire them as well!

3. What if I see something you post and I know where it came from or who created it?

If you ever recognize an image I’ve posted here and you know where it comes from, please send me a message and I’ll edit the post to give the proper credit.

4. What if I’m the creator/owner of something you post here and I don’t want you using my work?

I am more than happy to remove any photo that the owner prefers I not display. Simply send me a message and I will do so right away.

5. Why do you post everything as text posts? Why not post using the picture post format?

There are a few different reasons I use text posting instead of picture posting.

One reason is because I almost always post more than 1 picture per post and I don’t like the way the picture posts are formated when you use multiple pictures (the little slideshow viewer).

Another reason is because for people with slow computers (like mine, which is dying) it bogs down the window and makes everything even slower.

I also post in text format because I like having each picture shown separately so people scrolling through their dashboard page can see each individual thumbnail and can simply click the ones they choose to have them enlarge right there on the same dashboard page.

Another reason I don’t create picture posts is that I don’t like having my images sized down to fit in the slideshow viewer. I want people to have the option to view them in their larger sizes.

Finally, with the picture post slideshow viewer, the pictures are not individual image files anymore, therefore, they cannot be right-click saved if someone sees one they want to keep.

6. Why do you put multiple pictures in each post? Why don’t you post each image by itself, 1 picture per post?

I’ve always preferred to post pictures in groups, but I also wanted to get my viewers opinions on posting single pictures vs groups of pictures, so I polled my followers about this issue. The results pretty strongly favored the multi picture posts, which is how I’ve been posting since creating this blog. Because the majority of people seem to prefer it that way, I decided not to change to single picture posts.

I do try to keep the picture groups cohesive and the photos similar (usually from the same house), and I try not to post more that 5-6 pictures in 1 post. I also use the queue to stagger my posts so as not to flood my followers’ dashboards.

7. What if I want to reblog a single picture I see on your blog, but it’s posted in a group with other pictures? Do I have to reblog the whole set?

Nope, you sure don’t! You can reblog my posts and only include as many or as few of my photos as you want. You don’t have to reblog the whole entire post (and the whole group of pictures) if you don’t want to.

Just delete the photos you don’t want when you create your new (reblog) post. For example, if I’ve made a post containing 5 photos and you only want to reblog, say, 1 of them, just delete the 4 remaining unwanted pictures from the new post you’re creating when you reblog. That way you can have a single-photo post for your reblog. It’s completely fine with me if you edit my posts before reblogging.

8. On my dashboard, why do the pictures in your posts show up so tiny? I can’t hardly see them!

Actually, they’re clickable thumbnails! Click on them, and they’ll enlarge right where they are. You wont even be navigated away from your dashboard. You can also click on the enlarged versions and they’ll be small thumbnails again.

9. If I really like your blog, how do I recommend it for Tumblr Tuesday?

Well I’m so glad you asked :) All you have to do is click on this recommend me link, and then submit Fuck Yeah, Awesome Houses! The recommend me link is also posted at the top of my blog, right under the title/description lines. Thanks for the recommendation!
